The Earth Cabinet houses samples of dirt, rock and plants from all corners of the Earth. It represents the Institute’s interest in maps and other catalogues that define the world we live in. A pile of dirt that can be held in the hand recalls wars that have been fought, homelands that have become cemeteries, and moons that have visited our own planet.
